THE BENEFITS OF GETTING OUTSIDE

run.

LIVE. BREATHE. LOVE. RUN.

The benefits of getting outside, particularly when it's a beautiful sunny day, and running around your neighbourhood or your favourite park are incredible.

For the price of a pair of comfy and practical sneakers, there are a wide array of physical and mental health benefits that can make a lasting positive impact on your life.  We have been fans of running for a few years now and each time we put on our sneakers and get outside we discover more and more reasons to make it an intricate part of our lives.

Did you know that running can:

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Reduce risk of heart disease by strengthening your heart and lung capacity
  • Improves bone density, which reduces the risk of osteoporosis
  • Boosts your immune system
  • Provides migraine and headache relief by improving blood flow to the brain
  • Helps to reduce stress and manage anxiety
  • Improves memory

So no matter how often or how long you decide to run for, be sure that every single stride you take is going to give you something in return.  Sometimes it's a great way to pop on a pair of heads phones, crank up your favourite tunes and spend some quality time alone, or run with a group of friends for a weekly catch up.  Either way you will be the one to gain the ultimate benefit because as the great quote states "running is not about being better than someone else, it's about being better than you used to be."

For those of you out there that love to run, we'd love to hear your thoughts on this.  What are some of the benefits that you have found from running? You never know, this may motivate someone else to get out there!
